Flu Season–Covid-19 Update

As Flu Season approaches, it is even more important to do the following:

  • Practice frequent hand washing.
  • Use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available.
  • Practice social distancing when possible.
  • Wear a mask when social distancing is not possible.
  • STAY HOME if you have a fever, cough or flu like symptoms.

CITY HALL REMAINS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Several different types of COVID-19 signage are in place for visitors to follow. Social distancing is required, and masks are highly recommended.  Online and drop box practices are encouraged. The less human contact during flu season, the better. Do not come in person to conduct business if you have a fever, cough or flu like symptoms.  

City Court remains in session with social distancing and masks being required. Court appearances are staggered to keep down the numbers of people present at one time. Temperatures will be taken at the door.

POLICE & FIRE OFFICES are open to the public as needed. Social distancing required. Masks are recommended.

ROCKWOOD LIBRARY REMAINS OPEN with some regulations on the number of people using computers at one time. Hand washing & sanitizing will be required to browse through books and to use computers. Equipment is cleaned between users. Time limits may be set on computer use. Hours are 10-5 Monday through Friday until further notice. Curb service will still be available and social distancing will be required. Masks are recommended.

Rockwood Community Center is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. until further notice.  Closing hours could vary depending on meeting room rentals etc.. Groups using community rooms must practice social distancing. Adults & children using the gym should bring their own basketball if possible.  If basketballs are issued, they must be cleaned and sanitized between users. Numbers of people at the same time from different groups may be limited. Masks are recommended.  

GOLF COURSE: Open on a normal basis. Carts are sanitized before and after each use and social distancing is encouraged.

AIRPORT- Lobby Hours 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Staff is available on request after hours.

GARBAGE COLLECTION (WASTE CONNECTIONS) Existing Garbage Pick Up Rules Are Being Strictly Enforced Due to Corona Outbreak and Will Be Strictly Followed in the Future. All garbage must be in bags. Garbage inside cans should also be in bags and tied up. No loose garbage will be picked up.

Rockwood- Roane County Clerk- Tag & Registration Services are suspended until further notice. This site will be updated when clerk services resume.

These rules are all subject to change dependent upon current conditions of COVID-19.

The City of Rockwood encourages everyone to follow CDC guidelines by doing the following things: Practice social distancing, wear facial coverings, and follow proper prevention hygiene, such as washing your hands frequently and using alcohol-based (at least 60% alcohol) hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
