Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood will be a new official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location joining more than 2100 other cemeteries across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day. Led by Rockwood 2000 and the American Legion Post 50, with help from the Honor Guard and local Boy Scouts, a wreath ceremony, along with the placing of wreaths on veterans’ graves, will occur on Dec. 19.

This effort will be considered a pilot and learning year with Oak Grove Cemetery being our first attempt to honor our veterans buried there. Leaders are hopeful that this program grows and expands so that more veterans’ graves can receive a wreath. Every donation and wreath sponsorship represents a meaningful gift from a grateful American who knows what it means to serve and sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy.

If you want to sponsor a veteran with an official WAA wreath (balsam fir wreath) go to http://www.rockwood2000.com/WAA.pdf and fill out the Wreath Sponsorship Form. Or, forms can be picked up at Live and Let Live Drug Store in Rockwood. Submit the form with payment for each wreath by Nov. 23, 2020 to Rockwood 2000, P.O. Box 933, Rockwood, TN 37854.
