ROCKWOOD GARBAGE PICK-UP IS CHANGING-JULY 1, 2024.
A new (blue) 96-gallon can will be provided by Waste Connections and will be property of Waste Connections. If the can becomes damaged by normal wear & tear, WC will replace it. All garbage must be bagged and placed inside the provided can. No other container can be used for pick-up. The process is automated, so NO garbage outside the can will be picked up. If a resident has trash outside the can consistently, he or she may be charged with littering. The can must be placed in a certain area with the handle facing to the back from the street. (See more info below) Waste Connection employees will help educate citizens on can placement.

There will be a video on Facebook and the city website explaining details in a couple of weeks. Waste Connections will be at Main Street Monday on Monday, June 10, 2024 (In front of REU) to demonstrate and answer questions. The new cost per household will be $15.00 effective July 1, 2024 and will appear on the RWSG bills on the 15th & 30th billing cycles. There will be a learning curve for everyone, and we ask for your patience as we transition into the new system.

The Placement of Your Trash Can Matters. The correct placement of your trash helps ensure the proper collection of your garbage. Collection trucks are armed with an automated electronic arm that grabs and empties the can. This efficient process streamlines collection and prevents potential injuries. Each household will receive one 96 Gallon Container Capacity: 7 kitchen bags Household 4-6 https://www.wasteconnections.com/services residential/residential-garbage-pickup Demonstrations in front of REU on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Main Street Monday 5-8 p.m.
