The Rockwood City Council passed an Ordinance in February 2025 having to do with vacant structures. This Ordinance is adopted to establish a program for identifying and registering vacant structures, whether residential, commercial or industrial, within the city limits of Rockwood, that may present a fire hazard, become an attractive nuisance, may detract from efforts to rehabilitate or maintain surrounding stmctures, or may present a hazard to the health, safety and welfare of the public. Through a registration, inspection and monitoring process, vacant structures will be kept weathertight and secure from trespassers, will not impede efforts to rehabilitate or maintain surrounding structures, and will not otherwise present a public hazard. Therefore, the health, safety and welfare of the public is served by these regulations. Please read Ordinance 13-13 for further details.
